Holiday Island, Arkansas
The contract with the auditor for the Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District will expire when the 2010 audit is completed.
A marketing presentation was given at the regular meeting by Verne Anderson of Holiday Island. He and a volunteer committee, consisting of private property owners and business owners, worked on ideas and possibilities for promoting Holiday Island.
Anderson said, "The developer felt a downturn trend starting in 2000 and he moved his focus to The Park and The Bluffs."
The committee came up with ideas on how best to spend $20,000 on a marketing campaign for Holiday Island.
This committee dissolved upon completion of the presentation to the board of commissioners.
A special meeting to further discuss a future marketing plan is scheduled for Friday, February 25, beginning at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the District Office on Woodsdale Drive. This is an Open Meeting and the public may attend.
The board of commissioners will hold a work session at 9 a.m. on February 22. After this meeting, the traditional orientation for the board of commissioners will begin.
Chairman Bruce Larson said, "The orientation is the most productive work session."
The orientation is scheduled for February 22, 23, and 24. The purpose of the orientation is to familiarize the board of commissioners with all the district's departments. The public may attend. These are on sight orientations per department.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for February 28, at 9 a.m.
Meetings are held at the District Office on Woodsdale Drive in Holiday Island, Arkansas.
