Holiday Island, Ark. - With a quorum of three the Board of Commissioners held a short work session on June 21, 2010 at the Holiday Island district office.
Vern Anderson a volunteer from the marketing committee was unable to attend the work session and present the committee's proposal to the board. The discussion was tabled until the regular June meeting.
Jack Murphy represented the committee presenting a Dog Proposal. With several dog owners and their dogs present at the meeting the location proposed by the committee was the existing ball park at the recreation center. This location, as proposed, would take on a dual usage with people having first priority. The proposal was lacking in details regarding rules and responsibilities as well as human or dog safety. This topic is not on the June regular meeting agenda.
The Employee Handbook needed to be reviewed by the attorney and in addition the H.I.S.I.D. employees with their supervisors. There are some questions to be addressed that were not clarified in the handbook. This topic is to be continued at the regular June 28 board meeting.
A resolution was discussed to prevent property owners from contacting the district attorney and any engineering projects. This item is on the regular meeting schedule for June.
A memo from April, regarding the Leak Detection Pilot Study was available with no discussion. This item is on the regular meeting agenda for June.
