Arkansas FOIA and Open Meetings
The newly elected Holiday Island Board of Commissioners (BOC) held their first regular session board meeting of the year at the district office on Monday, January 23, 2012.
Chairman Linda Griswald called for department head report summaries.
During the presentations, the golf course department head's report gave insightful information regarding the long discussed marketing plan.
The marketing plan has been placed in the hands of the golf pro and the financing lies within the golf department's line item, which has been moved to "general funds."
The presentation included ad placements in print, radio and tv sponsorship and the purchasing of digital photo frames. These digital frames will be loaded with information by volunteers and distributed to individuals to carry to events. The individuals are volunteers, which are refered to as ambassadors.
As editor of CNj and a property owner, Rebecca Sherman delivered FOI requests for records from 1970 to 1990 of the board of commissioner meetings (BOC) of the Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District (HISID). This action took place on Monday, January 23, 2012.
CNj previously submitted requests for the record years of 1991 and 1992, which are now found and located at the District office.
The newest FOI request has brought records home to the district office located on Woodsdale Drive in Holiday Island, Ark.
Arkansas state law requires all government documents to be stored and available upon request, which are subject to various deadlines depending on the type of record. Archived records must be produced within three working days.
CNj is still waitng for the original Holiday Island charter.
